High School Spirit Week 2011 Recap

 

High school students celebrated Spirit Week 2011 beginning on Tuesday, October 4. Each day, students had fun by dressing up and walking the halls in attire representing the 90’s. The week kicked off Tuesday with 90’s Fads and students dressed in a variety of outfits including oversized clothes, flannel shirts, high waisted pants, overalls, scrunchies and blossom hats. The 90’s theme carried into the activity hour and students participated in two games, Mario Cart and Pac Man.

On Wednesday, students donned Saturday morning cartoon costumes for 90’s cartoon day. Students enjoyed participating in Power Rangers Capture the Flag, Hungry Hungry Hippos and Snowball USA. 90’s Board and
Video Character Game Day, which was Thursday, called for student’s to represent characters from their favorite 90’s childhood games. Students came in outfits representing games such as Candyland, Super Mario Bros., Clue and Guess Who. The class competition for the day was the annual paper drive.

In support of the Eagles soccer and football teams, Friday was School Spirit Dress Day. Students came dressed in school colors and each class presented a video they had created. At the end of the PM
The Homecoming celebration commenced with the varsity soccer game and was followed by a time of fun and fellowship at the tailgate. The festivities continued at the football game and at half-time Rebekah DevineActivity hour the winningclass was announced. The Senior Class – Class of 2012 – dominated the week’s activities and was awarded the Spirit Scepter.

Rebekah Devine was introduced as Homecoming Queen and Lance Shipp was crowned Homecoming King. The weekend concluded on Saturday evening with a wonderful Homecoming Banquet.
