Global Christian School Online, a division of Southfield Christian School, offers a fully accredited online secondary school program. GCSO provides an academically excellent, flexible, engaging and relationship-oriented online program grounded in a Biblical worldview. Online learning is rapidly becoming an accepted and desired method of quality academic instruction. Over 1.5 million K-12 students took courses online in 2009, and colleges now expect high school graduates to have online learning experience as they begin their university training. While the online learning format offers the flexibility that allows families to craft a program uniquely fit to their lifestyle, values and children’s needs, it also offers rigorous and challenging academics, access to top quality teachers and a safe environment in which to learn.
GCSO accepts students for both full-time (six or seven courses per semester) and part-time (one or more courses per semester) enrollment. We realize that today’s families have varied and unique lifestyles and living situations and that their children may have atypical schedules, abilities or goals. Our online program accommodates these needs. GCSO staff will work with families to meet their unique needs and desires whether interested in a complete learning solution or singular classes such as challenging advanced courses or ones of personal special interest.
Learning online does not mean learning alone! GCSO students will build relationships with teachers through regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings and with other students by participating in extracurricular activities. Full-time students in the metropolitan Detroit area are welcome to participate in Southfield Christian School’s athletics and fine arts programs.
