About SCS Audio Eagle Elementary Podcast

SCS Audio Eagle Elementary is the podcast of Southfield Christian Elementary School in Southfield, Michigan. Our broadcasts highlight some of the exciting things that are going on in our elementary School. You can listen to our mp3 audio broadcasts online or subscribe using iTunes, which will allow you to download them onto your iPod.

The students on our elementary podcasting teams have learned to write, record, and edit podcasts using GarageBand. They also create some of the music used in their podcasts.

The Kindergarteners and 4th graders have been learning to say I Thessalonians 5:18 in Spanish. Listen to this podcast to practice saying the verse along with Mrs. Slater.

The 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders have been learning to say John 3:16 in French. Listen to this podcast to practice saying the verse along with Madame Slater.

Reference Raps (February 2009)

The fourth graders recently studied 5 different types of reading reference sources. To help the students remember them, their teacher wrote a rap which the students practiced and performed in groups. This podcast presents examples of the creative performances of 5 of the groups.

Test Tube TV - Landfill Experiment (January 2009)

The fifth graders did an experiment where they created a landfill. They wanted to find out how long it took for various items to decompose. This podcast will let you know how they constructed it, what they discovered, and what they learned about helping the environment.

Owl Pellets (November 2008)

The third graders dissected owl pellets to learn more about the food chain. If you don’t know what an owl pellet it, you will want to listen to this podcast!

Plant Interviews (November 2008)

The fourth graders conducted some amazing interviews with plants! You'll want to listen to this creative and imaginative podcast to hear what the plants have to say about themselves!

Test Tube TV - Examining Cells through a Microslide Viewer (November 2008)

The fifth graders used a microslide viewer to study different kinds of cells. They drew pictures of the cells so they could compare the characteristics of each type. This podcast shares what they learned through this experiment.

Test Tube TV - Simple Machines (September 2008)

The third grade classes went on a simple machine scavenger hunt. Armed with digital cameras, they explored the school and took pictures of the simple machines that they found. This podcast shares the machines that they photographed.

Presidents on Parade Podcast (May 2008)

The fifth graders at Southfield Christian School have been doing research about the presidents of the United States. They used the information that they learned to write a campaign speech for their president. They also made a portrait of the president. Each podcast will let you travel back in time to learn about the issues and accomplishments of several presidents. Three episodes have been posted at the link above.

The Life of Isaac Reader's Theater (April 2008)

Fifth grader Meghan wrote this play about Isaac. A group of fifth graders recorded the play and our podcasting team edited the sound and added sound effects.
