On Wednesday morning, we stopped at Mont Royal before leaving Montreal. This park is in the highest part of the city, and you could see the downtown area, as well as the Olympic Park.

By late afternoon, we passed through the gates of the old city in Quebec City.

We couldn't wait to start wandering the quaint streets and stairways of old Quebec City which are filled with shops and cafes. The streets echoed with the clip clop of the carriage rides.

The streets were filled with all kinds of discoveries. There were street performers on every corner. To the right is an amazing faux street scene painted on the wall of one of the squares.

The most famous landmark of Quebec City is the beautiful Chateau Frontenac. It is pricey to stay there, so we opted for Fleur de Lys hotel. It was comfortable, conveniently located in the heart of the city, and cost effective.

Here is another lovely view of the city, including the funicular which (for a small fee) you can take to the top of the hill instead of climbing many steps.

After checking out the shops, we found a great little outdoor crepe cafe for dinner. We were serenaded by a guitarist as we ate.
