Second Grade - Mrs. Veldman

Welcome to second grade! This year, we will be learning many new things. In math, we will be adding and subtracting two and three digit numbers. We will also be solving many different kinds of math word problems. We are working to become more fluent and expressive readers. Our goal in writing is to learn to express ourselves clearly and creatively. We look forward to learning cursive handwriting! We will learn about the world that God has created for us to appreciate and enjoy. Most importantly, we will learn how to keep Jesus first in our lives. We want to make choices that will please and honor God!

    • Happy New Year

      December went by quickly in second grade! We finished our Bible passage, Luke 2:4-18. It was wonderful to be able to recite the Christmas story directly from the Bible! Our new passage is Proverbs 3:1-8. These verses contain very wise advice for all of us.

      Second graders have had a busy fall. We enjoyed some fun activities during Spirit Week in October. The best day was book character day. We had lots of creative costumes. Be sure to check out our pictures.
