In this course students learn the language and mechanics of algebra and put them to practical use in problem solving. The topics that will be covered include the following:

- Solving Equations and Inequalities
- Graphing Linear Functions
- Solving Systems of Equations
- Properties of Exponents
- Operations on Polynomials
- Factoring and Solving Quadratic Equations
- Simplifying Rational Expressions.
