Every year SCS students and teachers go on a missions trip to Jamaica to help the poor and the needy. When asked about the trip Matt Whiteford was extremely uninformative, he summed up the trip in three words, "It was good."
Aaron Hammers spoke of the various activities they did for fun, from climing water falls in the Dunn River Falls, to snorkeling, to shopping around a flea market, the trip was filled with many recreational activities. The team stayed at Montego Bay and went shopping on the "Hip Strip". However the team did far more self-sacrificing tasks while on this trip. They spent two days working at a christian school for the deaf. At this school they played with the children and repaired the roof and foundation of the school.
The Jamaica team also spent time working at the Robin's Nest orphanage, playing with the kids there and painting the building. One part of the team worked at a special need's orphange working with children disabled by physical and mental handicaps.
