Field Trip to Ford Field

The Robotics class went on a field trip to the science and engineering expo at Ford field on Thursday November 6th. The event was well attended by students from the Detroit area and many Michigan colleges and companies. The students had a great time watching and operating the First Robotics robots and visiting with engineers.

Quarter 2 Update

The Robotics I students have completed their work with touch sensors and are now working on light sensor projects. The current project is called "Follow the Line". It requires them to program and build a robot that will follow a curved black line, turn around and follow the same line back to the starting location.

The Robotics II class will be programming the NXT sound sensor. Their robo challenge this week will be "clap-on and clap-off".

There and Back

The Robotics I students will begin programming this week and their first robo challenge is called "there and back". They will have to program the robot to go forward past a line, do a complete turn around, return and stop within 8cm of where they started.

Advanced and first time students

This year the M.S. robotics class is made up of students that have already taken a semester of robotics and new students. Second semester students will be working on more advanced robotic applications while the new students will be getting their feet wet in basic engineering princples and robolab software programming.
