Elementary Library

Elementary Library

The Elementary Library is used by students in grades K-5. The emphasis of the library program is to develop readers and build informational literacy. In K-2 library classes, which meet weekly in the library, this includes a weekly story time, reinforcing literacy skills taught in the classroom and teaching students how to find books in the library. In grades 3-5, taught weekly in partnership with Language Arts teachers, this includes an emphasis on research skills, literacy skills in context and continuing to build independent library skills. Mrs. Salamon also leads a weekly PK story time in their classrooms to promote early literacy skills.
